Through integration and collaboration, we’re building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.

About the Role

We’re looking for a flexible, motivated and dynamic Registered Nurse to join our surgical nursing team at Wellington Regional Hospital. This role works across our General Surgery service, with opportunities to further develop your acute surgical and assessment skills within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

The Surgical Assessment and Planning Unit (SAPU) is a busy assessment unit with ten beds and four treatment chairs, providing assessment and short stay care for General Surgery patients across the Wellington and Kāpiti Coast regions. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate strong core nursing competencies and a willingness to continue developing your clinical knowledge and skills. You will enjoy working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and be committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

At Wellington Regional Hospital, we are committed to nursing excellence, ongoing education and professional development. We actively support postgraduate study, PDRP development and continuous learning, and offer a supportive team environment with experienced nurses who provide ongoing guidance and mentorship.
