Registered Nurse - Transit Lounge

Contract: Part Time 0.9 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role

We’re looking for a flexible, dynamic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Transit nursing team at Wellington Regional Hospital.  The Transit lounge blends clinical care, patient flow coordination, and logistical problem-solving. 

Transit services is a fast paced and dynamic area to work we differ from many Transit areas as we provide a 24 /7 service. With have a small but highly skilled team of Registered Nurses and Health care assistants. We provide pre-operative operative care for cardiac and surgical patients and Cardiac, Gastroenterology and urology day procedures. The transit team support discharges from the clinical areas and interface with flight for Inter- hospital transfers. The salary range for this role is Meca NZNO RN step 3-7 based on skills and experience - pro rata.

 About you

Essential attributes for this position is a passion for delivering clinical excellence and enthusiasm. You will be outgoing and easily approachable with excellent communication skills with an expectation to be on at least proficient level on the PDRP.  You be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and be familiar with the use of equipment for various infusions.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have NZ residency or Citizenship
  • Current New Zealand Nursing  Registration and Annual practising certificate 
  • Previous New Zealand Hospital experience
  • Minimum 3 years post graduate nursing experience
  • Cardiac experience
