Research Assistant

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Research Assistant to join our Wellington Blood & Cancer Clinical Trials Unit. In this vital role, you will work closely with the nursing team to support the clinical trial process, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality research. This flexible part-time role offers 28 hours a week – 0.7FTE, with working hours between 08:00 and 16:30, Monday to Friday.
You will provide timely and professional administrative assistance and complete other trial-related tasks that do not require specialized nursing knowledge or skills. All tasks will be performed under the guidance and delegation of the ACNM, Team Leader, and research nurse/study coordinator.
The salary band for this role is $67,943 to $73,476 (pro rata).

About the
Team/Service Location
You’ll be working in a multi-disciplinary environment, working with professionals across a wide range of services in the medical, pharmaceutical and laboratory areas, including Trial Sponsors and their representatives. You’ll receive training to manage the clinical trial administration, and there’s scope for learning new skills and gaining qualifications.
About you
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and web-based communication.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with technology.
- Knowledge of the healthcare or clinical trials environment is a plus.
