Security Orderly
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital or Hutt Hospital
Contract: Casual (Rostered and Rotating)

About the Role
The security orderly role involves primarily the safe transport of patients throughout the hospital. The role also includes the movement of equipment and items throughout the hospital as well as the security and safety of the patients, staff, visitors and site. It is a varied role that requires good customer care skills, empathy and a strong work ethic.
You will need to be physically fit, as it is a physically demanding role with lots of walking and able to carry out shift work which includes days, nights, weekends and public holidays as required.
Some of your duties will include:
- Transfer patients within the hospital in a safe and timely manner
- Move items of equipment and specimens throughout the hospital
- Provide site security and maintain a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors.
The salary band for this role is $56,000 - $66,000 (pro rata), depending on experience.
About the Team/Service Location
The positions are for Security orderlies who can work across our region which includes predominantly Wellington hospital but may include duties at Kenepuru and Hutt Valley as and when required.
Currently the service has approximately 100 staff with a wide variety of ages, ethnicities and backgrounds making for a team with a rich and celebrated team cultural.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Good customer care skills and a high standard of personal presentation
- Full or close to obtaining a full Driver's license
- Can pass a full Police vetting.
- Empathy and de-escalation skills
- Able to work individually and as a team
