Contract: Fixed Term 3-6 months (part time or full-time options)

About the Role

We are welcoming applications from those looking for both part-time and full-time opportunities for 3-6 months while our P&C Team undergoes a period of change while continuing to support the delivery of Health Targets and the recently introduced Health New Zealand Delivery Plan.

The Senior Advisor works in partnership with the business, with managers and employees in the assigned service to understand the operational aspects and HR needs, and to support the service in the achievement of its goals and operational requirements.

The Senior Advisor assists with the implementation of strategic HR projects as well as transformational change across the organisation.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The role of Senior HR Advisor works in the Delivery Support Team working alongside other Senior HR Advisors (and the wider P&C Team), reporting to the People Partnering Lead. The Senior HR Advisor works with the Hospital and Specialist Servies Managers, through the provision of end to end operational and transactional HR advice and services, including the delivery and implementation of HR strategies, policies and processes. The role will be expected to take autonomous accountability for a service/set of services to ensure the provision of a flexible, comprehensive, and value-add HR service.

You will be required to work across the Capital Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa District.

About you

  • Experience to complement our busy Delivery Support Team P&C Team, working across Capital Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa District.
  • Experience working in a generalist HR advisory/partnering role (in the range of 5+ years) with engaging and influencing diverse groups, including Senior Leaders. Can demonstrate knowledge and experience of HR operations, systems, and processes.
  • Has a strong background in managing complex employment relations cases, working with Unions, and change management.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done. 
  • Demonstrates relationship building, interpersonal, collaborative, and customer-focused skills and experience.
  • A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
