Service Administrator - IOC ED
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Full time

About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Service Administrator to provide essential coordination and administrative support across our Hospital Operations Group. This role spans key clinical areas including Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), and the Emergency Department (ED).
Working closely with Operations Managers, Clinical Leaders, and members of the leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring services run efficiently and effectively, contributing to a seamless, patient-centred healthcare experience.
Some of your key Responsibilities will include:
- Provide high-level administrative support to Operations Managers and Clinical Leaders
- Support effective communication and information flow within and across teams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative systems and documentation
- Assist with scheduling, reporting, and coordination of operational activities
- Contribute to efficient workflows that support timely decision-making and resource allocation
- Provide backup support to the Group Manager’s Personal Assistant and administrative colleagues as required
- Support service integration and responsiveness to demand across departments
The salary band for this role is $76,705- $84,754, depending on experience.

The Hospital Operations Group delivers safe, efficient, and patient-focused care across the region, ensuring smooth patient flow, high-performing theatre services, and responsive ED and ICU care. We lead emergency responses, strengthen quality and clinical governance, and develop innovative models of care to optimise hospital capacity and support patients with complex needs. Working collaboratively across districts, we drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and sustainable use of resources.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience in a senior administrative or coordination role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Proficiency with standard office systems and administrative tools
- A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
