About the Role 

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and customer-focused Service Administrator to join the Surgical Services Directorate at Wellington Hospital. This is a permanent full-time position of 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.30pm. The salary band for this role is $76,705 – $84,754, depending on experience.

About the Team/Service/ Location 

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. The primary function of the role is to provide exceptional administrative support to our Operations Managers and their teams. 

We are a friendly, dedicated team who take pride in delivering outstanding support for the Surgical Services Directorate. Our team includes Operations Managers, Senior Medical Officers, Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Administration/Booking teams.

About you 

The successful candidate for this role will be organised, diligent, have outstanding attention to detail, be confident dealing with staff at all levels, comfortable prioritising multiple responsibilities and demonstrate resilience in a busy environment.

You will need to work as an individual and as part of a team, working in a courteous and professional manner, making effective decisions with your internal stakeholders in mind.

Other skills and experience we are looking for include: 

  • Knowledge and experience in a people-facing admin role preferably supporting a manager
  • Experience of supporting meetings including the production of supporting documentation.
  • Experience in dealing with stake holders, customers and staff in a sensitive environment.
  • Competent in using the Microsoft suite and have the ability to quickly learn new applications/systems required for the role
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
  • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills to enable deadlines to be managed and met.
