Social Worker for Porirua Community Mental Health Team


Location: BNZ Tower, Porirua

Contract: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours/week (1 FTE)

About the Role

As a registered social worker you will be working in a multidisciplinary team environment. You will be working with Tangata Whiora and their whanau from the Porirua community impacted by mental illness. This role has a high degree of autonomy requiring capacity for risk management, providing therapeutic interventions and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team is made up of doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists and social workers. Based in part of Porirua, BNZ Tower. The diverse team with the wide range of skills and expertise, we work in a supportive and respectful manner to achieve the best outcomes for our community.

As a service we cover from Johnsonville to Pukerua Bay.

About you

As a registered social worker the professional requirements required are, 

  • Full NZ Social Work registration. 
  • Experience with mental health. 
  • Current New Zealand drivers license .
