About the Role

Wellington CAMHS is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team working with Infants, children, adolescents and families/whānau with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You'll become part of a passionate multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality assessment and treatment services with the opportunity to develop speciality knowledge, to work therapeutically with this client group and their families. Supporting this age group and their families through their beginning journeys is potentially life changing.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Wellington CAMHS is a community based team, close to the hospital, that provides specialist assessment and treatment for 0-18year olds and their families/whānau. We have a diverse population in the heart of Wellington, are dedicated and passionate as a team to improving access for young people of all ages and working together with their families/whānau. About you

The successful applicant will be:

• A Registered Social Worker
• Have 2+ years mental health experience, preferably in child adolescent mental health or is keen to develop expertise in CAMHS.
• Skilled in assessments, risk evaluation, and crisis response
• Ability to provide high-quality mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions.
• Experience in working with a range of clinical presentations including trauma, neurodiversity, challenging family systems.
• Passionate, motivated, and innovative
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Experienced in areas such as group work, family therapy, trauma-informed therapies, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), ACT, play therapy, EMDR – all would be highly valued.
• Have the ability to work autonomously and also as an integral part of a dedicated, innovative and friendly multi-disciplinary team.
• Able to work collaboratively and supportively with other team members to ensure provision of appropriate assessment and treatment.
• Experienced working in a bi-cultural and multi-cultural practice and be community focused.

• Work in partnership providing assessment and treatment with infants, children, young people, and their families to create positive outcomes
• Undertake risk assessments and risk management planning
• Facilitate therapeutic groups
• Collaborate with community partners and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Apply your discipline-specific expertise to support positive outcomes
• Help shape a service designed around the needs of our community
