Sonographer - Radiology
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital & Kenepuru Hospital
Contract: Permanent: Full & Part Time available – please state your preferred hours in your cover letter

About the Role
We have a vacancy for a Sonographer to provide ultrasound imaging at Te Whatu Ora Capital and Coast. This role could suit a sonographer who would like to work in Radiology only or across both Radiology and Women’s Health.
Sonographers in this role enjoy interacting with a wide variety of health professionals and hospital departments. With a suite of new ultrasound machines, Sonographers produce high quality imaging which informs patient management and results in a high level of patient care.
Upskilling is available in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Vascular and Musculoskeletal ultrasound for the right candidate. Full-time or part-time positions are available, with some flexibility available regarding rostered hours.
About the Team/Service Location
The Radiology service is multi-disciplinary, employing Radiologists, Nurses, Administration Support Staff and Medical Imaging Technologists, and is a training institution for Radiology Registrar’s, MITs and Sonographers. The services support tertiary Radiology imaging for the lower North Island and upper south island capturing a population of over one million people.
The multidisciplinary team in Women’s Health Service is dedicated to ensuring excellence in obstetric and gynecological care. This service provides an integrated mix of inpatient/outpatient/day patient and domiciliary services. Services are delivered in Wellington and Kenepuru hospitals, Kapiti Health Centre, out-reach clinics and domiciliary midwifery services. A dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Department sits within the Women’s Health service.
About you
- Eligible for registration in the scope of practice Ultrasound with the New Zealand MRTB
- Experience in the following is all valued, with upskilling available:
- Abdominal scanning
- Gynecological
- Small parts
- Vascular
- MSK
- Maternal Fetal Medicine
- Paediatric
