About the Role

We are seeking a Team Coordinator to join our Ward Administration team Service which supports patient journeys from preadmission through to discharge.

The Team Co-ordinator takes an organisation view and ensures that all processes are standardised across all wards.  With their Team Leader, coordinates the team and ensures that ward administration staff provide a customer focussed, efficient service to patients, relatives and clinical teams. 

This role operates on an 80-hours-per-fortnight schedule, with 8-hour shifts rostered across 5 out of 7 days. Shifts are rostered between 6:30am and 8:00pm, with public holiday work required in line with the roster.

The salary band for this position is $80,186 - $91,281, depending on experience. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team is one of diversity, fun, multi-cultural and hard working. We take pride in focussing on our patient’s journey where every day is unique. The Team Co-ordinator takes an organisation view and ensures that all processes are standardised across all wards for their ward administrators.

The Ward Administration Team Co-ordinator position sits within the Patient Administration Service.  There are six teams in this group who collectively manage the provision of a centralised administration service to clinical areas covering all process steps from referral to discharge.

The Ward administration team manages the meet and greets, validation of patient information, admission and discharge process and general enquiries relating to patients in the wards. They also liaise with clinical staff to ensure that patient throughput is managed effectively, and administration support is provided promptly. Their work is significant because they are pivotal to the day-to-day running of the ward.

About you

  • Able to deal with ambiguity - is able to work in an environment of uncertainty; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office Suite computer skills particularly excel
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet delivery of commitment.
  • Able to work independently
  • Self-motivated and self-aware
  • Exposure in working with cultures other than their own
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate with members of the team or the public including those who are distressed or angry.
