Team Support Administrator


Location: Kenepuru Hospital, Community Health

Contract: Fixed-term Maternity Cover to July 2026, part-time (0.53 FTE)

About the Role 

In this role you will be providing administrative support to the Older Rehabilitation Adult (ORA) team that go out into the community as well as Geriatricians. Responsibilities include the scheduling of their outpatient appointments, booking calendar appointments for home visits and management of Community Health/ORA Cars. 

You will also be the first point of contact for patients, external medical representatives or internal staff needing to make appointments or contact the clinical staff. Other general duties include word processing duties, minute taking and general assistance to the Clinicians. 

This role works 21 hours per week so offers excellent work-life balance. You will be rostered to work 4 hours per day, 4 days a week, with 5 hours being worked on a Thursday.

About the Team/Service/Location 

The Patient Administration Service works across the District to support a patients journey from referral through to discharge. PAS is comprised of several difference services:

  • Outpatient Booking Centre, Call Centre and Atrium
  • Clinical Typing & Team Support
  • Ward Administration & Elective booking
  • Outpatient Reception and Administration Support
  • Emergency Department and Radiology

Each area has a dedicated Team Leader to provide one point of contact across the group. Our collective goal is to provide efficient and effective administration support that enables clinical staff to focus on providing quality care to patients. This role is part of the Outpatient Reception and Administrative Support service and is situated within the Community Health team at Kenepuru Hospital. You will be working closely with both clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure the service needs are met.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Ability to liaise with clinicians and patients
  • Effective management of emails and electronic diaries of clinicians
  • Data entry experience and proficient using Excel
  • Drivers Licence 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Management of ordering office supplies and equipment
