About the Role 

Salary:  $90,227 - $94,092 (APEX and Te Whatu Ora Health / New Zealand MRI NMT Collective Agreement 1 JULY 2024 – 31 JANUARY 2027)

We are looking for motivated candidates interested in an exciting clinical training opportunity to become a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. This position is based at Wellington Regional Hospital and offers immersive, hands‑on training within a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine team. 

Trainees receive comprehensive clinical teaching, day‑to‑day mentorship, and supervised experience across patient imaging, hot lab practice, and SPECT/CT operation. As part of the role, you will be enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (Nuclear Medicine) through the University of Auckland, allowing you to gain nationally recognised qualifications while developing your technical and clinical expertise in a supportive teaching environment.

Exact start date can be negotiated, ideally to coincide with the start of Semester 2, Monday 20th July 2026.

About you 

  • Candidates must be eligible/enrolled for Post Graduate diploma in Health Sciences in Nuclear Medicine (PGDipSc Nuclear Medicine) through University of Auckland.
  • Candidates must be eligible for registration with the MRTB as a trainee Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Passion for imaging and patient care
  • Strong technical and communication skill
