Workforce & Practice Development Unit Administrator – Programme Support

About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated administrator to join the Workforce and Practice Development Unit at Capital Coast & Hutt Valley. This is a permanent full-time position of 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm. Primarily based at Wellington Regional Hospital, with the expectation of working from our Hutt office 1-2 days per week. This position presents an excellent opportunity for an administrator who is self-motivated, organised, enjoys working with diverse portfolios, and the chance to work with a team committed to growing and supporting the nursing workforce. The salary for this role is $74,090 - $81,864 PSA Band 5C.

About the Team/Service

The Workforce and Practice Development Unit (W&PDU) supports the District Chief Nurse and Nurse Directors across the District. The W&PDU provides leadership and support for undergraduate, pre-registration, postgraduate and ongoing learning for nurses across the District and Region. Professional development is an important workforce focus across primary, secondary and tertiary services; as is developing, managing and improving processes and systems to optimise workforce contribution and resilience to ensure quality patient outcomes. 

About you 

The successful candidate will be organised, diligent, have outstanding attention to detail, be confident dealing with staff at all levels, comfortable prioritising multiple responsibilities and demonstrate resilience in busy environments. 

You will need to work independently and as part of a team, in a courteous and professional manner, with adaptability to work across multiple settings. Other skills and experience we are looking for include:

  • Knowledge and experience in an administration role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills 
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft suite and ability to quickly learn new applications / systems required for the role
  • Knowledge of the health environment is advantageous but not essential
