Allied Health Practitioners– Join Our Expanding Inpatient Rehabilitation Service.

Are you a dedicated Allied Health Practitioner or assistant with a passion for transforming lives through physical health rehabilitation? Come aboard our dynamic inpatient rehabilitation service, where we embrace whānau-centred care and work as a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team alongside our nursing and medical kaimahi.

With new leadership, an expanding bed capacity, additional roles across nursing, allied health and medical; and a refreshed model of care, we’re building a future where our rehabilitation services set the standard for excellence. We have multiple Rehabilitation Allied Health roles available, including an Advanced Allied Health Practitioner and an Allied Health Educator.  We welcome applications for these designated roles alongside the clinical roles advertised and are open to discussing different ways of framing these opportunities up with you.

Our roles include:

  • Advanced Allied Health Professional Rehabilitation 0.5 FTE / 20 hours per week
  • Allied Health Educator Rehabilitation 0.5 FTE / 20 hours per week
  • Social Work 0.5 FTE / 20 hours per week
  • Dietitian 0.5 FTE / 20 hours per week
  • Speech and Language Therapist 1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week
  • Occupational Therapist 0.9 FTE / 36 hours per week
  • Physiotherapist 0.6 FTE / 24 hours per week
  • Psychologist 0.6 FTE / 24 hours per week

About the Team/Service/Location

Kenepuru hospital is a sub-acute setting that provides specialist Health of Older Persons care, surgical services and rehabilitation.

The inpatient rehabilitation multi-disciplinary team is a close-knit team of allied health, nursing and medical colleagues, based at Kenepuru Hospital. We are a team that loves to learn and upskill, and we encourage service-improvements that help the patients and the team. 

These roles sit within the wider Kenepuru Inpatient Allied Health team which consists of over 35 Allied Health staff from Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Language Therapy, Psychology, Activities Coordinator, Physiotherapy, Social Work, and our Allied Health Assistants.  They would also work alongside two established designated Rehabilitation roles; an advanced Occupational Therapist and Allied Health Consultant.

We work together closely to provide a service of high standard to patients and their families and whānau.  We are a very supportive team; we provide training and learning opportunities, supervision, mentorship, and we celebrate our wins with food. It really is a warm and inviting space to work in.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have

  • Experience in and a passion for delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical care across rehabilitation settings
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach to working in a team
  • High levels of motivation and initiative
  • An understanding of the health needs of our Māori and Pacific communities
  • An eagerness to reduce inequities and improve clinical care and health outcomes
  • Current full drivers licence
