About the Role
As a valued Health Care Assistant (HCA), you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our busy outpatient facilities Kenepuru and Wellington and Hospitals. Other areas in Wellington hospital you will work out of are Te Wai Nui (Children's Hospital) and Clinical Measurement Unit (CMU). Our service is dynamic, patient-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality care across a wide range of specialist clinics

This flexibility helps us meet patient needs while supporting your work-life balance
As an HCA, you’ll work closely with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs) as well as other clinical staff. Nurses may delegate tasks that don’t require professional nursing judgment, and you’ll always have guidance and supervision available when needed. You may also be assigned service-related duties that help keep our clinics running smoothly.
Training and support will be provided to ensure you feel confident and capable in your role, with clear expectations and ongoing learning opportunities
We believe in recognising your skills and dedication. Through the NZ Nurses’ Organisation (NZNO) Multi-Employer Collective Agreement (MECA), HCAs can apply for Merit Step One or Two—each offering a financial allowance upon meeting specific criteria. These steps reflect your growing expertise and contribution to the team.
Your professional growth matters. You’ll have the opportunity to give and receive feedback during your annual performance appraisal with your manager. This is a great time to reflect on your achievements and set goals for the future.
The salary band for this role is $60,100 - $70,358.
