Location: Wellington Regional Hospital and Hutt Hospital

Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term, 0.2FTE, Parental leave cover

About the Role

Do you have a passion for clinical education, resuscitation training, and improving patient outcomes? We are looking for an experienced and motivated Resuscitation Educator to join our innovative Simulation Service team and make a meaningful impact across our district. This role is to cover parental leave for up to one year and will be rostered and rotating.  We will consider a 0.2FTE or two 0.1FTE roles.

As a key member of the resuscitation team, you will educate, support and assess staff across all disciplines in resuscitation skills and the recognition and response to patient deterioration. Through engaging education programmes, quality improvement initiatives and leadership in clinical practice, you will help build a safer, more capable workforce.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Simulation Service provides clinical education and support to educators to design, deliver and manage clinical education.  Based in the Simulation and Skills Centre at Wellington Hospital, and the Clinical Training Unit at Hutt Hospital, the team is part of the Centre of Clinical Excellence.

About you

We are looking for someone who has

  • Relevant tertiary clinical qualification.
  • Current registration with a professional body and practising certificate.
  • Extensive clinical experience and advanced clinical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated expertise in resuscitation knowledge and practice.
  • Experience in clinical education and adult learning.
  • Confidence using technology to support teaching and simulation-based education.
  • Desirable experience includes applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in practice.
